Nine riders from the Quercy horse club, from Cahors, trained by Nicolas Tornel, the club’s sports director, qualified to participate in the 2022 French Open Generali championships in show jumping competitions which took place from July 23 to July 30 at the parc federal of Lamotte-Beuvron: Joy Dumont (11 years old) and Rafal in club 2 Benjamin, Fany Algay (13 years old) and Chili de Terride in club 2 minimal 2, Mariana Malaurie (16 years old) and Ulysse de Las Marios in club 2 junior 2 excellence, Maylis Do Amaral (21 years old) and Tosca du Passage in club 1 young senior, Amelie Delpech (21 years old) and Caraibe de Mels in club 1 young rider excellence, Luce Maginot (19 years old) and Bibir in elite young senior club , Lucie Quesada (18) and Frodon de Cavalhac in the elite junior club, Emelyne Joucla (18) and Cloudy Dawn Seguret in the elite junior club, Sasha Mentieres (14) and Espoir de Vieve in the elite junior club.
All these riders and their horses have done honor to the Quercy horse club. Special mention for Emelyne Joucla and Cloudy for their 11th place out of 120 in the elite club final, Mariana Malaurie and Ulysse for their 25th place in club 2. And for the Cabécous du Quercy team, made up of Luce Maginot, Sasha Mentieres, Emelyne Joucla and Lucie Quesada who finished 5th in the final of the elite club by team and who had the honor of the Marseillaise at the award ceremony.
This magnificent adventure was possible thanks to the professionalism and investment of their coach Nicolas Tornel and the instructors Charlotte Couerbe Astruc and Camille Abboud, the involvement and efforts of the riders and their parents throughout this sporting year and finally to the generosity of the many sponsors of the Quercy horse club.
The Quercy horse club will be present at the French championships in 2024.
