French team. Rennais Steve Mandanda replaces injured Mike Maignan

Steve Mandanda joins the France team for the end of the international window. The Stade Rennais goalkeeper was summoned this Friday morning to replace Mike Maignan, embarrassed in the calf and released at half-time from France – Austria (2-0) at the Stade de France on Wednesday evening. The Blues will travel to Copenhagen to face Denmark there on Sunday (8:45 p.m.), and try to avoid the last place in Group A of the League of Nations 2022-2023, synonymous with relegation to League B.

The last summons of Steve Mandanda (37) to the France team dates back to September 2021, during the World Cup qualifiers. As for his last selection, it took place on November 11, 2020 against Finland at the Stade de France, in a friendly match (2-0 defeat).

Arrived in Rennes in July, he will therefore find his SRFC teammate Adrien Truffert in Clairefontaine, where injury packages have multiplied in recent days. The last time two Rennais were present at the same time in the France team was in October 2020, with Eduardo Camavinga and Steven Nzonzi.
