The French men’s team vice-champion of Europe in speed

The French men’s speed team will not get gold. Condemned to the feat against the Netherlands, Rayan Helal and Sébastien Vigier, launched by the young Timmy Gillion (20 years old) could not do anything against the Dutch, led by Harrie Lavreysen, individual gold medalist in Tokyo and seconded by Olympic vice-champion Jeffrey Hoogland. The Habs were beaten by almost a second on Friday in Munich (34”639 against 35”516).

The French at the foot of the podium

Committed for the bronze medal at the end of the afternoon, the French Mathilde Gros, Marie-Divine Kouamé and Julie Michaux, who were competing in their first International Championships together, were beaten by Poland by less than two tenths (39” 341 against 39”164). A cruel outcome, even if this young team from France, of which Mathilde Gros is the oldest at only 23 years old, will undoubtedly have other opportunities to shine.
