Tunisian Post and VISA International sign a strategic partnership agreement

La Poste Tunisiene and VISA International have just signed a strategic partnership agreement for the development of innovative electronic payment services and to promote digital payment, financial inclusion and d e-cash in Tunisia.

This partnership was jointly initialed by Sami Mekki, CEO of the Tunisian Post and Leila Serhan, Senior Vice President & Group Country Manager for the North Africa, Levant and Pakistan region at VISA International, during an official ceremony at the head office. of La Poste Tunisiene, in the presence of the executives of the two partners.

Based on a collaborative relationship that dates back more than two decades, this partnership allows the Tunisian Post, as a main member of Visa, to offer its customers innovative and secure means of payment.

A development plan has been put in place to consolidate the efforts made by the Tunisian Post and its partner VISA International with a view to promoting access to digital payments based on digitization to accelerate the adoption of new payment uses.

Sami Mekki declared, on this occasion, “the Tunisian Post is committed to a strategy for the promotion of digital payment and financial and social inclusion. This is based on the development of digital and innovative financial services based on new technology and business models adapted to different populations. The Tunisian Post has set very ambitious goals, namely universal access to digital financial services through its mobile payment solutions “𝗗𝟭𝟳” and “𝗺𝘆𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲”. In particular, this is aimed at young people, students, and MSMEs. as well as citizens.

For her part, Leila Serhan, declared: “the development of electronic payment activity with our partners is one of VISA’s priorities. To achieve this objective, VISA believes in the importance of a fruitful bilateral cooperation through strategic public-private partnerships which play an essential role in the inclusion of citizens within the formal financial system and the generalization of electronic means of payment. to achieve a world without Cash, for the good of citizens, governments and the economy in general. This cooperation with La Poste Tunisiene, through this agreement that we signed today, is a new step in the achievement of this objective. »
